The Overview Of Brentford City Football Club.
Brentford has played football at different levels since it was founded in 1889 and has won different trophies.
They were playing amateur football initially before joining London League in 1896, they finished second in both the 1st and 2nd division of the London League and were promoted to southern League in 1898.
In 1900-01, they won the Southern League Second Division and was promoted into the Football League in 1920.
In 1932-33, Brentford won the Third Division South title and Second Division title in 1934-35. After which the spent five seasons in First division. Brentford were relegated three time to fourth division till 1962.
In 1962-63, Brentford won the Fourth Division trouphy and were again relegated in 1966 and 1973.They gained promotion into the Third Division in 1977-78 and spent 14years in the Division and went on to win the Third Division trophy in 1991-92 before been relegated in 1993.
In 1998, Brentford were relegated to forth division and in 1998-99 they were promoted into the championship league and were relegated in 2007.
Brentford suffered a Championship playoff defeat in 2015 and 2020.
The club is currently placed second behind Norwich City who seats top of the 2020-21 EFL Campaign.
